After weeks of trial and error (and more error!) I'm still having problems getting my Drosophila flight-simulator to record without noise. Even with a 300kg heavily damped table, the mechanical trasnducer (torque-compensator) is still showing noise at about 20 times the tolerable level. See the extended news body for pictures.
Interestingly, that's the same setup (actually, even with more weight and damping) that worked just fine during my PhD thesis. Apparently, Berlin vibrates more than Würzburg

The scale on the left is the appropriate one and is in mdyncm, which is 10-10Nm.
