In a few minutes I'll be on my way to Hamburg (a 300km journey) in my duty as external committee member on the thesis committee of Britta Wittek. I got to know Britta during my time as a graduate student in Würzburg, where I recruited her to work with me on the neurobiology of aggression in Drosophila. We kept contact since then and now I will sit on her committee when she defends her own thesis. I'm looking forward to the event and will make sure I'll ask her a few questions.
