There have been some weird but very fortunate events going on this week. Despite the data on the lack of effectiveness of prayer and astrology, these events make me get a better understanding of why and how superstitions like these developed. And all that thanks to the seemingly arbitrary ways of science funding in Germany. But let me recapitulate:
