A new study published in Chemistry & Biology (press release) used in vitro evolution to show that catalytic activity can be tranferred from an RNA-enzyme (ribozyme) to a DNA enzyme (deoxyribozyme). They way I see it, there goes another instance of "irreducible complexity" requiring an intelligent designer (ID). I guess it only takes a few more such studies and the ID proponents will have to look hard to find something useful for them
