Twenty five years ago as a college freshman, I was introduced to the sport of team handball, playing in an intramural sports league, possessing and knowing the very basic skills to play. Today, I am coaching the men's and women's teams at Furman University, learning everyday the offensive and defensive strategies and advanced skills necessary to keep my teams competitive. I wish I knew about the avenues available for team handball in college as I know them today!
I have known Kurt Stone the past 4 years, watching him play, coach, train and spectate a sport he truly loves. His intensity and enthusiasm for team handball is unmatched. The time is now for handball to shed its' non-traditional sport label and become a household known sport. To do this WE need strong leadership. Kurt has been involved at all levels, beginner to elite. He knows what is takes to teach and keep the beginners interested, and the recreational, college, club, and elite players competitive. I believe he can mold and develop all handball enthusiasts in to ONE unified group, taking handball to the next level. He will be the president for all of us, committed and dedicated to making OUR sport the USA's "new" sport of the millenium. Keep our avenues open and our road to success a reality by supporting Kurt for president.
