Leadership is the ability to inspire others to achieve more. All organizations thrive and prosper in direct correlation to the quality of leadership of the individuals within the organization. It is no accident that handball has been stagnant in America for the past 30 years, let alone the past 4 years. New leadership and vision is needed. Kurt Stone has always been at the forefront of visionary excellence. In the late 1980's, he created a handball league, an international club tournament, and a junior elite team long before the popularity of these ideas became mainstream. I have known Kurt for close to fifteen years, and not only do I consider Kurt Stone to be a close personal friend, but more importantly, he is a mentor and someone I admire. Ever since I began as a young junior, I have witnessed Kurt's devotion and patience with beginning handball players, coaches, and organizers. He has always had the foresight to understand the value of long-term planning and empowering individuals within an organization to accomplish more. For these reasons, I believe Kurt Stone is the ideal candidate for President of USA Team Handball.
