This endorsement is being written to strongly support Kurt Stone in his bid for President of USA Team Handball. As a fellow co-worker during the 1996 summer Olympic games I had numerous opportunities to view Kurt in action - as an ambassador, organizer, employer, leader and friend. The first thing that comes to mind when thinking of Kurt capabilities is his tremendous capability to view challenges from all sides and determine a solution that is both equitable and fair to all parties involved. In my twenty years of working as an administrator, college professor, and event organizer I have never met an individual who empowered or challenged me more, enabling me to achieve my best.

One of Kurt's most impressive qualities is to manage international competitions and delegates. I use the word manage, because working with such a culturally diverse group of individuals requires a strong moral character, impeccable attention to detail and an innate sense of fairness. Kurt was amazing how he dealt with international coaches, team delegates and IHF representatives. All involved with the 96 games were impressed. The ACOG staff, volunteers, teams and most importantly FANS! (Which is something USA Team Handball desperately needs) Sports Illustrated deemed handball "the Hottest ticked in town." In fact most of the problems experienced by other competitions; not enough volunteers, delay in competitions, computer glitches, athlete complaints were not found in team handball. Of course there were many people involved to make the handball competition one of the most successful in Olympic history - but one person should be credited with formulating and supporting the team - Kurt Stone.

Kurt is exactly what Team handball needs - a man with a vision who wants the best not only for himself and the sport - but also for everyone who is involved. Good luck Kurt - I wish you the best. Team Handball will thrive under your leadership!
