linking back to brembs.net

We've just gone live with two new websites. The first one isn't actually new, it's just been dormant for almost exactly two years:

lab.brembs.net is back!

We've ported it from e107 to WordPress and got every lab member an account so now we should be back in business.

The second one is the website of our new Research Unit:

biogeneamine.de

which is all about biogenic amines in insects, a brand new DFG-funded Research Unit of a total of 7+2 labs (7 original applicants and two associated labs) in Berlin, Potsdam and Leipzig.

In both sites we are using a custom-coded plug-in that was designed specifically for labs, hence the name WP4Labs. This plugin allows you to write short descriptions of research projects and assign lab members to these projects, such that visitors can quickly find out who's working on which project. Of course, all users can blog, providing both static and dynamic media to inform the public about your research.

This plugin is our contribution to the movement 'Wordpress for Scientists' (blog, site, group) and I'm looking forward to using more science plug-ins on our sites as they become available.
