News straight from the "Monty Python is still alive" department - seriously, you can't make this up (and April Fool's Day is long gone anyway). Today, the Spiegel (and others) are reporting that people who believe in invisible magic men (Bund Katholischer Ärzte) also believe that homosexuals are in some need of therapy. But here comes the kicker: they believe that giving them absolutely nothing will actually cure them from teh gay! The perfect collusion of delusion! These guys must be so totally off in lala-land, entirely beyond any rescue. Not only do they think there is some magic man in the sky who sort of tries to prevent all evil, but whenever that dude fails and people are 'afflicted' with homosexuality, all they need to do is to take something, dilute it until there is nothing left and poof, they have Gay-B-Gone.

This is the perfect example why all un-scientific nonsense needs to be opposed: it breeds more nonsense! Don't let people get away with conspiracy theories, homeopathy, religion, astrology, dowsing, whatever: all this nonsense just prepares the afflicted minds and creates fertile grounds for more nonsense until you pile idiocy on top of idiocy as in the case with the Catholic 'doctors'.

This is the only scientific dogma: there is no dogma! Weigh the evidence and change your mind. If the evidence is ambiguous, don't make up your mind. If there is no evidence, there is no need to believe anything.
