I've just arrived at the resort "Il Ciocco" for the Gordon Conference on Genes and Behavior. My first impressions are rather mixed. It looks very nice and old, but the rooms are dark without appropriate lighting, sorely lacking power outlets (had to unplug the minibar to get power for my laptop!) and the connection is so slow, I suspect it's as old as the building. Moreover, there is no connectivity in the lecture halls, making live-blogging impossible.
I'm sure after some dinner and a good night's sleep, everything will look much better. Throw some science in the mix and I'm sure I'll have a good time here, learn a lot and maybe come home with some great new ideas for experiments.
